e-Engraving is an exlusive project created by the Tuscaloosa Police Department.

This 21st Century tool was designed to help police solve crimes and assist citizens in recovering their stolen or lost property.

The concept is simple. Similar to the low tech approach of engraving your name or Social Security Number on valuable property, e-Engraving allows citizens to register their valuables with the Tuscaloosa Police Department. This data gives officers and investigators valuable information such as Make, Model and Serial Number of items that have been reported or stolen. Without this information, recovery of property can be difficult at best.

Users wishing to participate simply click the link below to open the e-Engraving form. After filling the form out, the data is returned to TPD for processing in our secure database.

This registration program is only a tool to assist the Tuscaloosa Police Department in returning recovered stolen property to its owner.

It DOES NOT: 

• Decrease the likelihood property will be stolen,
• Increase the likelihood stolen property will be recovered,
• Substitute for reporting crimes to the police,
• Assure that recovered property will be returned to the owner.
• It is your responsibility to provide accurate information and update your contact information when appropriate.
